They have always been more than attentive to my needs with the normal dental work, along with bringing in the appliances or retainers and cleaning them for me. He has fixed a few old fillings, broken fillings. We’ve also replaced a few silver fillings to the white to match the tooth, before another cavity would start that we replace the filling, and with that replacement to use the new white bonding. I think he is wonderful with his personality at alleviating any fears or anything like that. I also bring my two children in with me. They love coming here. There is no questions asked about when the dentist appointment comes up. They can’t wait to get here. The staff is amazing with the kids as well.
With Dr. Newingham’s expertise, our high-quality composite tooth-colored fillings will protect the rest of your tooth and restore its natural function and integrity. Call 248-972-8720 today to schedule a restorative dentistry appointment at our Birmingham, MI dentist office!
Repairing Your Teeth With High-Quality, Tooth-Colored Fillings
Dr. Newingham uses a composite resin for our metal-free and mercury-free fillings. The resin comes in several shades so that we can make sure we use a color that perfectly matches your natural tooth. This resin will also give the tooth additional strength and integrity when you bite and chew.
Dr. Newingham can get the whole dental filling procedure done in a short amount of time so you can get on with the rest of your day. He will simply apply the resin, and then use a special ultraviolet light that will cause the resin to set and bond with your tooth.
Afterward, he will adjust and polish the filling to make sure it feels comfortable and natural and does not interfere with your bite or the appearance of your smile. You’ll be in and out in no time, and your tooth will be good as new!
If you have more severe decay in a molar, we may instead recommend inlays or onlays, also made of discreet material, to protect a larger portion of the tooth.
How We Save Your Smile From Cavities
Plaque and bacteria can build up on your teeth and cause decay. This decay will spread through your tooth, infecting and destroying the structure of your tooth until the decayed portions are removed.
Dr. Newingham uses DIAGNOdent laser technology during your dental exams to locate any cavities, no matter how tiny they may be. If he notices any decay, he will gently remove it and clean your tooth. Depending on the size and location of the decayed portion, he may apply a little anesthetic to keep you comfortable during the procedure. Once the tooth is clean, he will fill your cavity with a tooth-colored filling.
