Clean Your Dental Crown Just Like Your Natural Teeth
When patients need to get a restorative treatment, they often worry that even after getting the procedure, their smile will never be the same, at least in terms of oral hygiene requirements. But unlike traditional dentures and other treatments that require special treatment, dental crowns can be treated just like your natural teeth.
To make sure that your crown lasts for as long as possible, all you’ll need to do is maintain optimum oral hygiene habits that you normally would, including:
- Brushing all of your teeth, including your crown, with a soft-bristled toothbrush and toothpaste for two minutes at a time twice a day
- Floss between all of your teeth at least once a day
- Rinse your mouth with a mouthwash or rinse that has been recommended by the American Dental Association if desired or recommended
- Maintain routine professional dental cleanings and exams every six months at Newingham Dental Center
You also won’t have to change anything about your dietary habits or the way you chew. You’ll be able to enjoy your meals fully again without dealing without any discomfort or difficulty biting into or grinding up your food.
Plus, thanks to the state-of-the-art dental technology we have at our office, we’ll be able to provide your crown in a single appointment. Our in-house CEREC milling machine can create your custom crown while you wait in our office so you won’t have to wait for it to be made by an off-site lab. You also won’t have to return for multiple visits!
We can provide a standard crown or, if a tooth is severely damaged or is already missing, we can connect one to a strong, sturdy dental implant to completely replace the tooth.
Regardless of the type of crown you receive, we will ensure that you are comfortable during your visit by providing various comfort options to help put you at ease. Our caring team will make your comfort a top priority!
